So, plans have been made…

Last night Nikki and I hung out with one of our friends and we got this crazy idea in our head. The even crazier part, we’re acting on this crazy idea in May.

Sky Diving from 13,500 feet! I’m anxious, scared an excited as hell. It’s $259 a person plus $25 training course and $69 for a video of your jump. We decided fuck it, we have the money to do it, we’re young, and this is a life time experience we’ll never forget! I of course will need to upgrade my WordPress before this so I’m able to upload our videos.

I still can’t believe we’re doing this, and I can’t wait to share it with y’all! I’m looking into a GoPro so I can document my own pictures/video if they’re okay with that.

THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOLS PRANK. I honestly forgot today was April fools but I’m secretly plotting something since Nikki is still asleep! Haha

Any ideas? Hurry and give me some before she wakes up! Let me know in the comments below of some prank ideas!

Why WordPress, Why?

So, many of you guys have been posting some amazing, inspirational, and hysterical posts on my reader feed that I’ve been trying to comment on every day now for almost 3 days. I thought it was just for one specific blog so I jumped off hers and on to a next and boom same thing, no comments. I don’t understand what is going on but it is NOT allowing me to comment on anyone’s post, it doesn’t even get to the comment section, I click on comments and it just moves the page down a little, doesn’t even show the page comments. I’m even on the computer, not on the app as I’ve found the app needs a lot of work as of recently.

Are any of you having this problem? Lmfao I guess if you are, like this since you won’t be able to comment, duh!

“Bullying” Repost.

As a victim of bullying my entire childhood and teen years, this really needs to be shared. I want bullying to come to an end. I know how hard to is to be that kid that everyone picks on. To be that kid that goes crying home every day and dreading the next morning every weekday. I use to make myself sick so I wouldn’t have to go to school and face my bullies. They probably have no idea how hard they made my life. I already had social anxiety, depression, and schizophrenia, my head wasn’t a fun place to be, and neither was school. School is like your second home when you’re a kid/teen, this is a place you should feel safe and welcome. Could you imagine the kids that are bullied all day in school and then bullied all day when at home? When does this child ever get to have peace and feel welcome? Bullying to me just doesn’t make sense.

“Bullying can occur anywhere: schools, workplaces, home. Anywhere there is someone different and an environment that perpetuates separation. Bullying is everywhere.

Everything.

“How am I supposed to explain my night terrors, thoughts, hallucinations and voices to other people that just don’t understand what I’m going through? What word would describe it so perfectly, someone might just *ding* lightbulb and understand why I’m so tense at times. Why would I tremble when waking up from a night terror if it’s just a dream? Why would I spend hours after hours crying on the bathroom floor gripping on to my hair to try and make the voices stop? Why?

Because…they’re so vivid.”

31 Day Blog Challenge: Day 5

My guiltiest pleasure would have to be smoking. It’s a nasty habit and I hate that I’m addicted to cigarettes. If I could go back in time and smack the shit outta my 14-year-old self, I would. My father wasn’t the best influence either, buying me cigs from 15 till sometimes even now.

I’ve attempted to quit multiple times, using the patch, the gum, and cold turkey. Nothing, I don’t have the “want” to quit in me, in order to do it. Don’t get me wrong, I “want” to quit, but deep down, I enjoy the taste, the feeling, way too much to not smoke. I feel like I will be one of those people on the tv warning people about what cigarettes can do to someone. I’m not joking about that neither cause I know what it can do, my grandma died and the smoking in her younger years didn’t help her at all.

I also love chocolate, way too much, like beyond love. I could breathe in pickle juice and love every minute of it (the smell). LMFAO

What’s your guiltiest pleasure? Or what’s your weirdest guiltiest pleasure? Let me know in the comments below:)

Review, News, and guest blogging updates.

So I mentioned how I will be reviewing products here soon since my blog has been accepted for campaigns.

Well, good news! I’ve been sent my first two products to use/review.

The first product received over the weekend and I used it yesterday for a test day and have a nice review I’ll be posting today about it!

Another big thing. I have been told by 3 different blogs that I could guest blog for them, which I’m super excited about.

So Stephanie, Tabbi, and Tanya, you will be receiving an email from me this week with some details and rough drafts!

Also can’t wait for the Christmas Party on December 22nd here at yourenotaloneinthisworld.

3 Day Writing Challenge.

tazgo

First, let me start off by apologizing to everyone on here that reads my blog daily. The last two days have been mentally tough for me, depression at the worst. I’ve gone about 3 weeks without my meds, and then boom I decided to take them because I was feeling a  little off and my voices started up. So, I went ahead popped my handful of meds and went to bed. The next morning I was a damn zombie, stumbling around, slurring my words, you woulda thought I was drunk. Nah, it was just the meds reentering my system I guess, lol.

Today, I’m feeling somewhat better, just really freakin angry. On a good note, I got my blog approved for Brands to send me products to review, so I will start doing reviews on my blog, yay! Hopefully, you guys are alright with some reviews, they will be mainly products for mental health.

Anyways, let’s start this 3-day challenge.

Today’s challenge: Write Something You Feel Strongly About, Don’t Hold Back.

Wow, okay so I feel strongly about a few things, I’ll narrow it down.

1). Animal Cruelty- One thing I absolutely can’t stand to see is Animals being abused or treated wrong. I look at all living things whether it’s a dog, cat, ant, plant, or beetle as a LIVING THING, just like us humans. Who said we had the right to treat animals differently than we treat living human beings? Some animals that walk this land have been walking this land long before we have. I can’t stand the fact that some humans think they’re above a living thing as an animal, we are not.

Here are some examples of what I’m talking about:

I can’t even stand going on Craigslist and seeing “5-year-old loving dog for free”. What the hell is wrong with people, you’ve had a dog for 5 years. You are his/her life and all he/she knows, and you’re going to just hand them over to a complete stranger not knowing at all what could happen to your “loving dog”? Do you think this animal understands that they’re getting old and you’re getting tired of raising an old dog and would rather have a cute puppy? Then what, 5 years down the road are you gonna post that puppy on craigslist to and just start a never ending cycle? No respect for life, that’s all I see.

I could go on and on about this subject but I’m going to stop because I’m already pissy today, don’t need to get more pissy.

2). Keeping Religion Out Of State- I’m not a religious person, but even if I was, I wouldn’t agree with it being a part of our State and Government. Why you might ask, simply because this is the United States, the land of the free. Do you see only Christians or Catholics walking among us today in 2016? Or do you see a mix of ALL cultures happily walking among us in 2016? Exactly what I thought, so let’s say you’re a Muslim living in the United States,

Do you see only Christians or Catholics walking among us today in 2016? Or do you see a mix of ALL cultures happily walking among us in 2016?

Exactly what I thought, so let’s say you’re a Muslim living in the United States, and your government is making you live by beliefs you’ve never even believed in. Let’s say your an Athiest family raising your children and send them to a school where they are taught your religion is wrong, they’re taught that their parent’s beliefs are wrong or sinful. That’s not right at all to me.

Okay, okay what about us gay people? The bible obviously says one man one woman, right? So wtf are we supposed to do when Religion is in control of the Government or State. Does that mean we’re all fucked in the eyes of our Government? That’s just wrong.

If you’re a citizen of America, we should the right to believe in what we want to believe in. And feel we are RESPECTED by any choice we make by our Government.

Just my opinion.

“As to religion, I hold it to be the indispensable duty of government to protect all conscientious protesters thereof, and I know of no other business government has to do therewith. ” ~~ Common Sense, 1776.

“Persecution is not an original feature in any religion; but it is always the strongly marked feature of all religions established by law.”  ~~ The Rights of Man, 1791-1792

“All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit.” — Thomas Paine (one of the founders of US)

“… I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should ‘make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free
exercise thereof,’ thus building a wall of separation between Church and State.” ~~ Letter to the Danbury Baptists, January 1, 1802

“[E]very one must act according to the dictates of his own reason, and mine tells me that civil powers alone have been given to the President of the U.S. and no authority to direct the religious exercises of his constituents.” ~~ Letter to Rev. Samuel Miller, January 23, 1808

“The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.” ~~ Notes on the State of Virginia , 1781 – 1785

“History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance of which their civil as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purposes.” ~~  letter to Alexander von Humboldt, December 6, 1813– Thomas Jefferson.

“The Government of the United States is not in any sense founded upon the Christian Religion.” 1797, The Treaty of Tripoli, initiated by President Washington, signed by President John Adams, and approved by the Senate of the United States

The United States of America have exhibited, perhaps, the first example of governments erected on the simple principles of nature; and if men are now sufficiently enlightened to disabuse themselves of artifice, imposture, hypocrisy, and superstition, they will consider this event as an era in their history. Although the detail of the formation of the American governments is at present little known or regarded either in Europe or in America, it may hereafter become an object of curiosity. It will never be pretended that any persons employed in that service had interviews with the gods, or were in any degree under the influence of Heaven, more than those at work upon ships or houses, or laboring in merchandise or agriculture; it will forever be acknowledged that these governments were contrived merely by the use of reason and the senses. ~~ “A Defence of the Constitutions of Government of the United States of America,” 1787-88

Thirteen governments [of the original states] thus founded on the natural authority of the people alone, without a pretence of miracle or mystery, and which are destined to spread over the northern part of that whole quarter of the globe, are a great point gained in favor of the rights of mankind. ~~ “A Defence of the Constitutions of Government of the United States of America” 1787-1788 — John Adams.

I hope everyone is having a good day, let me know if you agree with any of these things I feel strongly about, and put your two cents in!

Throwback Thursday.

So far we’ve thrown it back to the 90s and the 80s, but what about the 60s? The 60s is a time I would have loved to grow up in, besides the whole same-sex marriage illegal bullshit. I know I’m completely skipping the 70’s but hey, I’m excited to do the 60’s, don’t judge.

Let’s take a look at some stuff from the 60s!

My Top Favorite Artist From The 60’s.

(yes, I still listen to music from the 60’s)

Number One: Definitely Janis Joplin (yes, I named my cat after her)

janis-joplin-deadJanis Joplin makes number one for so many reasons, not just her music and lyrics. Most people look at Janis and see a drug addict, I see an inspiring musician and her personality, her personality was so strong for this era, she was labeled a wild child.

She made stomping ground for many white female artists due to her gusty and strong vocalist.

Janis wasn’t always the most loved person during her short period of time on Earth. She suffered from bullying shortly after turning 14, being called a “pig” due to the weight gain and acne caused by puberty. She began wearing men’s shirts and short skirts to school, changing the fashion for women in the 60’s. She wasn’t an unsuccessful person at all, she graduated high school and shortly enrolled in College. In 1962 she left her known life and fled to the University of Texas in Austin, where she studied Art. In 1963 she dropped school and pursued her dream of being the artist she knew she could be, the artist that we all know and love. Like most artists, she seemed to struggle with making a career out of her voice, and she even spent some time in NYC where she thought she would find better luck at her career. This is when her alcohol and drug abuse seemed to be detrimental to her musical career. In 1965 she fled back home with the hope of getting herself back together again, she soon realized the conventional life was not for her.

She returned to performing and in 1966 (the time her life changed for good) she was invited and recruited to audition for “Big Brother and the Holding Company“. Big Brother and the Holding Company was a new psychedelic band out of San Francisco, CA that many people explained to be the new “Grateful Dead“.

“After hearing Joplin at Monterey, Columbia Records President Clive Davis wanted to sign the band. Albert Grossman, who already managed Bob Dylan, the Band, and Peter, Paul & Mary, later signed on as the band’s manager, and was able to get them out of another record deal they’d signed earlier with Mainstream Records.”

The band and Janis grew apart quickly after Janis rose in fame, their album was a huge hit but mainly because of “Piece of My Heart” and “Summertime”. Janis’ voice was so strong and she was so devoted to these songs when she performed, how couldn’t people follow her?!

Piece of My Heart Live — Highly recommend watching this, listening to this!

In 1969 Janis became solo and released her own album “I Got Dem Ol’ Kozmic Blues Again Mama!” Kozmic Blues–check this out. janis_joplin_-_i_got_dem_ol_kozmic_blues_again_mama

After the release of her own album, she received many fans and also much criticism. Trying to a vocal woman in a man’s culture?

“That was a pretty heavy time for me,  it was really important, you know, whether people were going to accept me or not.” –

she later said in an interview with Howard Smith of The Village Voice.

The interview with Howard Smith on September 30th, 1970 was the last interview that Janis Joplin would ever do. She passed away only four short days later on October 4th, 1970 at a hotel in Hollywood, from an accidental drug overdose. She passed away at 27 years old, due to her addiction to heroin. janisjoplin

Known as the “first lady of rock ‘n’ roll,” Joplin has been the subject of several books and documentaries, including Love, Janis (1992), written by sister Laura Joplin.

If you’re a Netflix fan and also a Janis Joplin fan I suggest checking out “Janis Little Girl Blue”.

Rest Easy Janis Joplin, I can’t imagine how much fame you would have today if you would have stayed away from your demons.

Secondly, Bob Dylan.

2016-05-25-1464211797-4748536-bobdylanearly1960sI’m a huge fan of Bob Dylan’s music, I seriously think in my past life I was in the 60’s, or at least I’d like to think so.

My favorite songs by Bob Dylan:

Fashion From The 60’s?

download-17halloween-hippieshippiefashion16hippie-history-festivallate-60s-dresses1-400x463tumblr_lt8bgewiee1qm1ld5o1_r1_5001

If I could travel back in time to the 60’s, I must see:

Number One Stop: would have to be WoodStock.

I would have been in the middle of every crowd during WoodStock. I’m a hippie at heart and this would feel like home.

tumblr_n0wedksybf1szjftbo1_400woodstock2025

Number Two Stop: Every Protest I Could Have Attended!

The 1960’s was also known for the protest that happened in this era. Fighting for woman’s rights, fighting for human equality and to end segregation between blacks and whites, fighting for the war to end!

0123407_human_rights_firstcivil-rights-protest-1960s-2cteniavw4aahn90

I personally feel the 60’s was doing something right. The people fought to be equal, the people seemed to come together, no matter what color, gender, or sexual orientation. They sang from their hearts and about what they wanted to, not what would make them millions. They spoke the truth and stood up for each other, unlike we do today. I seriously think we could learn a lot from the 60’s era, maybe get an idea of what we’re doing correctly and what we’re doing incorrectly. Blows my mind that we are STILL fighting for human equality, and woman/men equality, what the actual fuck?!
